A richly decorated belt was an expression of status in Viking times. Here we offer a selection of styles and sizes from all over the Viking world.

Each set is copied from an original find and consists of a buckle, a strap end and sometimes a slider. They are all solid and chunky, unless otherwise specified. The sets can be purchased loose or attached to a hand made leather belt for an additional Ł28, US$49, €41.

Instructions - How to order a belt using the above order form

Select a buckle and strap end set for your belt (You can scroll down this page to see all the belt sets that we have available).
Select the strap colour required.
Select waist size. Remember to allow plenty of room for clothing - preferably measure an old belt. Four waist holes will be punched at 1.5 inch / 4cm intervals as follows (-1.5, 0, +1.5 and +3 inches). Actual strap length will be about 16 inches / 41cm longer than waist size to allow for dangling strap end. Longer straps will be made from two strips of leather stitched together.
Standard length belts are between 54 and 60 inches (137-152cm) long in total. Actual length depends upon the leather available. No waist holes will be punched in standard length belts. If you want a longer or shorter belt than the standard then please use the additional information box.

Copies of Magyar belt set, 10th century. Buckle and large end from Karos-Eperjesszög, small end from Zemplin, Hungary. The large end is hollow-backed, all pieces with integral rivets. This is an oriental style belt that included at least 1 extra hanging end for decorational purposes.
