Plant Dyed Wool Viking Caps from Birka

Wool cap dyed with lingonberry and onion

Caps based on a find from Birka, Sweden. Each is hand stitched from pure wool. It is then individually plant dyed in a small pot for optimal colour, using only the techniques and materials available to the Vikings.

Wool Viking Hood from Hedeby

Based on the hood found in Hedeby (Haithabu), Germany (formerly part of Denmark). Made from pure wool, hand stitched with waxed linen thread. Decorated with red woolen thread inside the face rim.
