Written around the year 1220, Edda is one of the most important books ever written in Scandinavia.
It is often described as the birth certificate of Nordic culture and is the main source of tales about the Aesir, the ancient Gods of the Nordic people.
This modern edition has has prose from the original book translated to English by Dr Jean I. Young and includes art illustrations spanning the last 400 years.
It shows depictions of the old Norse religion, from 17th Century Icelandic manuscripts to present day artwork.
